Two weeks ago, Chinese automaker Lucid Motors said the Air electric sedan could travel an impressive 832 km on a single charge (EPA). Now it became known that it will be charged no less remarkable.

So, on high-speed DC charging, the Lucid Air will be able to get up to 20 miles (32 km) of range thanks to the processing of peak charge power up to 300 kW (Level 3 DC) and 900 V architecture. By comparison, the Tesla V3 Supercharger puts out a maximum power of 250 kW and delivers up to 15 miles (24 km) per minute of charge. It will be possible to charge 300 kW Lucid electric vehicles on high-speed chargers of the Electrify America network, the two companies worked together on a corresponding solution.

In turn, the 19.2 kW converter built into the electric vehicle provides a range of 80 miles (130 km) per hour of charge (Level 2 AC). For all types of charging, a universal CCS (Combined Charging System) connector is used.

In addition to the complete Lucid Mobile Charging Cord, the company will also be offering electric vehicle buyers a Lucid Connected Home Charging Station with bi-directional charging. Thanks to this solution, owners of an electric car will not only be able to charge its battery, but also use it as a backup power source for the home (to save money or in the event of an accident at the energy supplier). The system supports Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X), Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) scenarios.

The official presentation of the Chinese electric car Lucid Air is scheduled for September 9, 2020. Recently, he and his crossover brother were filmed in California without camouflage, which allowed a preliminary assessment of the design of new products.
