Lionsgate has released the first trailer for the sci-fi movie Chaos Walking, which features a literary foundation, impressive cast, and talented director.
The film is an adaptation of the first book of the “Chaos Walking” trilogy by Patrick Ness, entitled “The Knife of Never Letting Go” (2008). If the film turns out to be financially successful, we will surely see film adaptations of the next two books, The Ask and the Answer (2009) and Monsters of Men (2010).
According to the plot, shortly, Viola (Daisy Ridley) ends up on a mysterious planet, where all women have disappeared, and men cannot hide their thoughts from others because of the mysterious Noise. By a lucky coincidence, Viola is thrown in first by Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland), trying to protect the girl from the cruel reality. In addition to Daisy Ridley (Star Wars) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man), the film features Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Nick Jonas (Midway), David Oyelowo (The Cloverfield Paradox), Cynthia Erivo (“Stranger”), and others.
Directed by Doug Lyman, who has a hand in all the films about the spy Jason Bourne, as well as directed the films “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” (2005), “Edge of the Future” (2014) and “Made in America” (2017). Chaos Walking is set to premiere on January 22, 2021.
