Boston Dynamics has published another entertaining video – New Year’s greetings in the form of a dance number with all its robots’ participation. And this wow a case where robots dance better than most of us.

First, two humanoid robots Atlas start dancing (although only one is shown in the first seconds in the frame), but soon the robot dog Spot joins them, and at the very end, a robot on Handle wheels rushes in. The robots dance the twist, and the so-called mashed potato dance to the 1962 song Do You Love Me by The Contours, which may be familiar to many from the classic Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze.

Perhaps one can hardly think of a more suitable musical accompaniment for this number. It makes no sense to describe something further in words – here. You need to look. Yes, the dance was staged, but how the robots perform different dance moves in sync is impressive. Not all leather bags will turn out to dance at least as well, even alone.

Up to this point, Boston Dynamics robots have demonstrated their dance skills only in solo dances, but this is their first joint performance. By the way, not so long ago, Boston Dynamics was sold again – soon, Hyundai will become the robots’ new owner.
