According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Largan, a prominent camera lens supplier, will be the sole supplier of periscope camera lenses for the new iPhone 15 Pro Max. The periscope lens is a novel addition that will enable users to zoom in without blurring. Insiders have been speculating about its inclusion in the iPhone 15 Pro | 15 Pro Max since the beginning of 2020.

Kuo’s latest note highlights two potential risks that camera lens vendors may encounter. Firstly, high inventory levels could result in a weaker second quarter of this year than expected, and secondly, suppliers may not be able to generate profits from periscope camera lenses.

Kuo states that Largan’s average selling price for periscope camera lenses is roughly $4, which is lower than the market consensus of $4.50 to $5 or higher. This suggests that Largan may not make a profit from Periscope camera lenses.
