Requirements
Before we start, you need to gather the following:
- macOS Sequoia Installer (16.3GB download)
- Balena Etcher (For creating a bootable USB)
- OpenCore EFI Configuration File (Compatible with your CPU)
- ProperTree (For modifying the EFI configuration file)
- Explorer Plus++ (For EFI partition management)
- GenSMBIOS (For generating a serial number)
- MiniTool Partition Wizard (For partitioning your disk)
- OpenCore Configurator (For OpenCore setup)
- A 32GB USB Flash Drive
Step 1: Check Your CPU Information
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + Esc
to open Task Manager. - Click on Performance and select CPU.

- Note your CPU name (e.g., Intel Core i7-4790).
- Visit Etechbox Labs to find your CPU’s codename (e.g., Haswell).


- Use this information to download the correct OpenCore EFI configuration file.
Step 2: Download the Required Files
- Search for Balena Etcher on Google and download it from
balena.io
. I have provided the download links above, you can simply visit that link and download.

- Download the OpenCore EFI configuration file based on your CPU’s codename.

- Download the rest of the tools from the above-provided links:
- ProperTree (GitHub)
- Explorer Plus+
- GenSMBIOS (GitHub)
- MiniTool Partition Wizard (Free version)
- OpenCore Configurator
- macOS Sequoia Installer

Step 3: Create a Bootable USB Drive
- Install and open Balena Etcher.

- Click Flash from File and select the macOS Sequoia Installer.

- Insert your 32GB USB drive.
- Click Select Target and choose your USB drive.

- Click Flash to start the process (this takes around 30 minutes).


Step 4: Extract and Modify OpenCore EFI
- Extract the OpenCore EFI configuration file.

- Open the extracted folder and locate
EFI/OC/config.plist
.

- Open ProperTree and click File > Open.



- Select
config.plist
and check for the following:- Ensure the SMBIOS profile matches your CPU.
- Modify the serial number using GenSMBIOS. (Download link provided above)

- Once opened, Type 1 and press Enter to install MacSerial

- Enter 2 to select your configuration file.

- Drag and drop your config.plist file.

- Type 3 to generate SMBIOS.

- Type MacPro7,1 (This will work fine for most of the hardware, if it doesn’t you can find your compatibility from the link)


- Save the changes and close ProperTree and SMBios. Now, wait for the flashing to complete.
Step 5: Install MiniTool Partition Wizard
- Right-click on the partition called EFI.

- Click Change letter and assign a random letter to it say, X.


- Right-click on the Unallocated Disk Space and click Create.

- Label the new partition to OCC and click Apply.


- Close the MiniPartition Wizard tool.
Step 6: Configure EFI Partition

- Open Explorer Plus+ (Run as administrator)
- Open EFI partition

- Delete all the files present there.

- Copy the EFI folder we created under downloads.

- Paste the EFI folder to the one under this PC: EFI Partition.

Step 7: Creating Partition
- Open Start and search Create Partition.

- Right-click on your main partition and click Shrink. You can ignore this step if you already have an empty drive or disk space.


- Right-click on the Unallocated space and click New Simple Volume.

- Assign a name (say- macOS 15) so that you can easily identify it.

- Go back to the downloads folder and copy the OCC folder.

- Locate the OCC partition we created on the flash drive.

- Paste the OCC folder here.

- Restart your PC
Step 8: Boot macOS Sequoia on Your PC
- Restart your PC and enter BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing
F2
,F12
, orDEL
).

- Go to Boot and disable Fast Boot.

- Under Boot>Secure Boot>Key Management.

- Clear Secure Boot Keys.

- Go to Advance>Advance Storage Configuration.

- Enable AHCI mode and VT-d (Virtualization).

- Set the USB drive as the first boot option.
- Save changes and exit.

- Boot from the USB (select UEFI) and select Install macOS Sequoia.

- Follow the on-screen instructions and click Reset NVRAM.

This will reset NVRAM and reboot.
- This time you will see Opencore (as shown below) click on it.

- Now, click on Install macOS Sequoia.

- Once the installation is complete, click on OCC and copy the zip file on the desktop.


- Double-click on OCC to extract and open OpenCore Configuration.

- Click on the OpenCore icon on the top bar.

- Mount both the partitions.
- Copy the contents of the EFI folder from the flash drive to our main drive’s EFI folder. Replace the contents if prompted.
