Google has added a useful feature called “green room” to its Google Meet service. It allows you to quickly check whether you are ready for the upcoming video call from the technical side. You can check if the peripheral devices (webcam, microphone, headphones, etc.) are working and if you have a reliable internet connection.

To enter the “waiting room,” you must click on the “Check your audio and video” button under your video stream. A window appears in which all your peripherals are available. After choosing the necessary devices, the user is asked to record a short video to check how everything works. You can then play the clip and, if necessary, go through the setup process again.
The “green room” function is already available for both Google Workspace users and personal accounts.
