Kickstarter launched a fundraising campaign to launch a portable ultraviolet disinfectant for mobile gadgets. Deep Purple has a foldable design and, when folded, resembles a tablet case. When unfolded, the device resembles a box in which you can put various items for disinfection. It can be wireless headphones, smartphones, car keys, watches, glasses, pens, remote controls, etc. The dimensions in the open state are 21.7x13x6.1 cm.
As the developers assure, the device sterilizes objects with 360-degree coverage. The disinfector uses UV-C LEDs (emitting wavelengths of 260-280 nm), which have a life cycle of more than 10 years with daily use. When objects are irradiated with such light, 99.9% of bacteria on their surface are destroyed.
The device is powered by a USB port to be powered by a power adapter, portable battery, and car charger. Thanks to this, the disinfector can be used even on the road.
The Deep Purple Portable Sterilizer will go on sale for a suggested retail price of $ 150. Beckers on Kickstarter have the opportunity to order the device at a discounted price. The fundraising campaign can already be called successful; to date, more than $ 61.7 thousand have been raised with a $ 10 thousand target amount.
