For Bitcoin, the beginning of 2021 was marked by another record. On January 2, the world’s main cryptocurrency exchange rate against the dollar overcame an important psychological milestone of 30 thousand per unit of cryptocurrency, as evidenced by the site’s data CoinDesk tracking the value of cryptocurrencies on different exchanges.
The new maximum recorded during trading on January 2 is $ 30,562.82. For the last hour, the cryptocurrency has been trading above the $ 30,000 mark per cryptocurrency unit. At the time of this writing, the course is thirty $ 479.12.
The price of bitcoin has been breaking records since December 15, 2020, when the rate rose above $ 20,000, updating the previous all-time high recorded in 2017. On December 25, 2020, the bitcoin rate overcame the milestone of 25 thousand for one crypto-coin; the next day. The cryptocurrency went up in price to 26 thousand dollars. Back in March of this year, Bitcoin dropped to five thousand dollars, but it has been growing steadily since then.
Together with Bitcoin, other major cryptocurrencies (altcoins) are becoming more expensive. According to industry tracker Coinmarketcap.com, the total market capitalization of virtual currencies is now is $ 796.07 billion, of which $ 571.1 billion is Bitcoin.
