Just yesterday we remembered Bitcoin – on the day of the presidential election in the United States, the rate of the most important cryptocurrency rose above $ 14,000 (there was no such rate since January 2018). But the growth did not stop there, and in a day the cryptocurrency added another $ 1,000, like three years ago. This is evidenced by the site data CoinDesk tracking the value of cryptocurrencies on different exchanges.
At 17:44 Kyiv time on November 5, the Bitcoin rate rose above $ 15,000 – over the course of the day, the cryptocurrency rose by 8.32%. Prior to this, the last time the cryptocurrency was traded at such marks was at the beginning of 2018.
The last hour, the cryptocurrency remains stable, trading at above $ 14,000. Right now – at the time of this writing – (18:47 Kiev time) the rate is $15 176.24.
Traditionally, other cryptocurrencies are growing simultaneously with Bitcoin. In the top 10, only Tether is in the red, and even then only 0.01%.
- The Bitcoin rate rose sharply at the end of 2017: in October it exceeded $ 5,000, in November – $ 10,000, and in mid-December it crossed the $ 20,000 mark. After that, the cryptocurrency began to fall in price.
- On May 11, 2020, Bitcoin experienced the third “halving”: the size of the reward for adding a new block to the blockchain decreased by half – to 6.25 BTC.
