Well, one of the most anticipated presentations of the year has just ended, at which Apple presented four new iPhone models at once. The network has long been leaked images and characteristics of new products, however, I propose to take a look now at the official information from Apple and figure out how the devices differ.

iPhone 12 / iPhone 12 mini

The first thing to start with is the appearance of the devices, since it is almost the same for everyone. The design of the new iPhone line is made in the spirit of the iPhone 5 – the sides are now flat. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have aluminum edges painted in the color of the case, while the Pro versions have stainless steel. The bangs along with the sensors remained in place, but smartphones can be distinguished by their size or by the number of camera modules: the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have two, the iPhone 12 Pro / Pro Max has three.

iPhone 12/12 mini is available in five colors: white, black, red, light green, and dark blue. The last option, for my taste, looks the most interesting. Especially if you’ve already bought yourself a blue Apple Watch Series 6.

iPhone 12 Pro / Pro Max is available in Gold, Graphite, Silver, and Pacific Blue.

Perhaps one of the biggest changes affecting the iPhone 12 (and also the mini version) is the new OLED Super Retina XDR display with a higher resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels, replacing the LCD screen in the iPhone 11. It has much higher contrast. , there is support for HDR and TrueTone. The screen is covered with a special protective material Ceramic Shield, which makes the iPhone 12 four times more resistant to damage than its predecessor.

The diagonal of the display in the iPhone 12 is 6.1 ″, in the iPhone 12 mini – 5.4 ″ (the resolution is slightly less – 2340×1080 pixels, but the pixel density is higher – 476 ppi versus 460 ppi in the regular iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 Pro has exactly the same display as in the iPhone 12, but with a slightly higher typical brightness (800 nits versus 650 nits). But the iPhone 12 Pro Max has the largest screen ever used in an Apple smartphone. Its diagonal is 6.7 “, resolution 2778×1284 pixels, pixel density 458 ppi.

The already familiar A14 Bionic chipset, built on a 5 nm process technology, is responsible for the performance of the new iPhone line. It debuted in the recently unveiled iPad. Apple only reminded that this is the most powerful chip in the smartphone market, which opens up new opportunities for users. In particular, this applies to the cameras of the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max.

But before moving on to the photo and video capabilities of the new iPhones, it should be noted that the iPhone 12 Series is the first Apple smartphones with 5G support. The head of the mobile operator Verizon was even invited to the presentation, who spoke about his company’s plans to develop 5G networks in the United States and expressed confidence that the iPhone will help make a breakthrough in using this technology. The devices support sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands and offer a smart data mode that can automatically switch between 5G and 4G to save battery and bandwidth.

The camera supports optical stabilization, Night mode, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR, 2x optical zoom, 4K video recording at 60 fps. The front camera also has a resolution of 12 MP (f / 2.2).
